The Perspectives Project
Prior to this project we had just
finished Garth Stein's The Art of Racing in the Rain as a
short overview of the story it chronicles the life and struggles of a
canine. The prime focus of this project was to expose the tribulations
that a domesticated animal faces on a day-to-day basis while at the
same time writing from their point of view. As cats, dogs and other
such creatures from the animal kingdom became our muses to craft
literary masterpieces we were also providing awareness to people
about the undeniable trials that shelter animals have to endure for
days on end. I was in charge of writing the story along side my
partner who did the illustrations and the artwork for our project.
This project was not just strictly humanities based but we were able
to incorporate our physics skills as well, thus our pinhole cameras
were born. We used cameras that were based off of man's first attempt
at photography; we manipulated natural light to create photographs of
our animals. I loved this project because it allowed me to be
creative and address key issues in the world that cannot go ignored.
