Creative Master Project
The purpose of this project was to get
my fellow classmates to discover their passion while linking it to
Spanish culture. In this project we had to explain what we are
passionate about and find a Spanish creative master that embodied our
passion. I picked Federico Garcia Lorca, he was the author to The
Gypsy Ballad, Dawn and various literary works. One of the
assignments of this project was to re-create a piece that the
creative master is famous for, I chose to re-create Lorca's Dawn.

The Dawn of Recreation
To escape from a shipwreck of blood
only to be marooned on an island of oblivion.
The Dawn is the product of false promises
and lost opportunities. And for what?
To leave your country for an eternity,
only to adopt hell for a homeland.
Those who seek sanctuary know the cost.
Their destination is not a paradigm of prosperity.
Rather a disingenuous magnet pulling their victims in
to have people view them as less than
the stature of wealthy capitalists
pushing them away.
The people who walk in the dawn are lifeless.
The only thing keeping them going is
the impotent professions that society has thrust upon them.
The anguish on their faces,
the anguish of their loss
the Dawn consumes all.
