Investigations
This part of my digital portfolio will highlight some of the activities or investigations that we do in our math/physics class.
Batteries and Bulbs
The one I shall introduce to my DP is the battery and bulbs investigation. We used batteries, bulbs and wires and we rearranged them in different orders to make a light bulb turn on. The mathematics we used in this investigation were the equations; voltage equals current multiplied by resistance and power equals current multiplied by voltage. We had to begin with a basic equation and then use that equation to solve for a variable.
The Race Track Game
The Race Track Game was supposed to
mimic speed and velocity by using colored pencils instead of cars.
The whole game was played on graph paper meaning that you can only
move a certain amount of blocks or be disqualified. If you crash in
real life that would be game over but in this game you merely just
lose a turn, which gives your opponent an edge.
Barbie Bungee
If your two favorite things are bungee
jumping and Barbie dolls, then this is the investigation for you.
Barbie is the perfect candidate for bungee jumping that is why we had
to estimate, how many rubber bands it would take Barbie to almost
touch the ground from a 100cm structure but not break her precious
little head. We used the line of best fit Y= MX+B.
